Preparation Eliminates Hesitation
Most traders believe confidence comes from finding the right setup.
It doesn't.
Confidence comes from already knowing what you'll do before the setup ever appears.
On the chart above, the important work wasn't done at the entry arrows.
It was done days earlier.
The reversal area had already been identified.
The market context had already been understood.
Risk had already been defined.
By the time price reached the entry...there was nothing left to decide.
Only execution.
This is one of the biggest differences between experienced traders and everyone else.
Most traders make the decision at the setup.
Experienced traders make the decision long before the setup exists.
That's why they appear calm.
They're not making emotional decisions in real time.
They're simply executing a plan that was created long before the opportunity arrived.
Preparation eliminates hesitation.
And hesitation is one of the biggest reasons traders:
• Miss excellent trades.
• Chase poor trades.
• Become emotional.
• Lose confidence.
The setup isn't the edge.
The preparation is.
Do enough preparation that there's nothing left to negotiate.
Think in probabilities, not predictions.
